Heads-Up Display

During a Combat Mission players are limited in the information they can perceive due to the 90-degree field-of-view (FOV) imposed by the game client. To compensate for this restriction additional, game relevant information is provided via the "Heads-Up Display", commonly known as the HUD.
The HUD provides each player with immediate information pertaining to their status as a Soldier as well as other information relative to their squad and the overall mission. Elements displayed in the HUD include: player health, stamina, combat effectiveness, objectives, mission time, player class, rank, ammunition, weapon, accessories and the SAI (some of these are described in greater detail later). Finally, to assist with weapon aiming a crosshair is depicted at the center of the screen. Many of these functions can be customized in the In-Game Setup menu; including, but not limited to: color, transparency, on/off toggle and symbology.

The SAI
The Situational Awareness Indicator has 3 levels of zoom (and a full-screen toggle) to provide players with a quick, visual understanding of their surroundings, and also report on enemy movement (via the "Enemy Spotted" function to plot a marker for others to see). However, in order to see your team mates in the SAI, you must have Line of Sight (LOS). A full discussion of the SAI can be found within the Situational Awareness Indicator page.
SAI Legend
Fortunately, SAI linking is "chained", such that if A can see B, and B can see C, A can also see C even if A doesn't have LOS with C. Sound tricky? Not in application. Squad Leaders and Fire Team Leaders have the added benefit of seeing all of their subordinates at all times, even when not in direct LOS.
Additionally, players have the ability to make the SAI semi-transparent and toggle its ability to rotate or even disable the SAI entirely via both the Settings and Controls.
