I no longer see a message when I terminate opposing players?
From AAManual
Unlike AA2, you now have the option of confirming a dispatched enemy. This new feature is called “Enemy Confirmation”.
The enemy confirmation mechanic will create a different level of play than standard FPS games. The primary purpose is to change the way players behave. Normally, players will rely on "death messages" to determine if it is safe to enter a location or keep track who is left on a team. With the enemy confirmation mechanic, players are required to be more cautious because they can't be sure if they have actually killed an enemy. It is also hoped that it will reduce "grenade spamming".
Confirmation Interface
When moves within one meter of a downed enemy and points their rifle at the target, the player will receive a contextual icon. If the target has not been confirmed, the player will see the confirmation icon, and see the downed player's name. The player will press the "Space Bar" to confirm the target. If the target has been confirmed, then the player will see a red "X" icon with "Confirmed" underneath it.
Confirmation Message Format
When a player kills another player, they will not know the name of the player they killed until they approach them and confirm the target down. Enemy confirmation may also be used to secure an incapacitated enemy. The message will have the following format:
CONFIRMED
<Confirming Player Name> confirmed <Confirmed Player Name> (<Neutralizing Player Name> : <Weapon Used>)
SECURED
<Securing Player Name> secured <Secured Player Name> (<Neutralizing Player Name> : <Weapon Used>)
Examples
- PlayerX dispatched PlayerY with a M4A1 and it was confirmed by PlayerZ, the death message would read:
- PlayerZ confirmed PlayerY (PlayerX : M4)
If PlayerX had confirmed his own action as above (but with a grenade), the death message would be:
- PlayerX confirmed PlayerY (PlayerX : M67)
Enemy Secured: If a player is incapacitated, they can be secured and that will eliminate them from the game and prevent them from being treated by a Combat Life Saver.
- PlayerX secured PlayerY (PlayerX : M4)
- PlayerX secured PlayerY (PlayerX : M67)
